Our aims.

  • Collaboration

Facilitate discussion and shared knowledge among a disparate group of internationals are working on the role microbiome in natural populations.

  • Open science

Numerous technical and analytical issues exist in dealing with metagenomic sequencing data. Both areas are developing extremely rapidly. The STN aims to facilitate development of new techniques and communication of best practice.

  • Support

A large focus of this network is to provide a welcoming and inclusive environment to support and train early career researchers.

See our resources and research exchanges (coming soon!) pages for more information.

  • Interdisciplinary insight

The STN will strive to make connections to other sub-disciplines where understanding the role of the microbiome may provide important insight and advances e.g. the evolution of ageing, conservation, and veterinary health.

  • Community

WAME wishes to highlight and connect existing communities of researchers who may benefit from a more comprehensive network.

See our resources page for more information.
